Red hot phone

Regular visitors will be used to my comments about the number of calls we receive for collies needing help. Well as Christmas approaches our phone is getting hotter and hotter with such calls. The last couple of days have seen Tracey and myself dealing with one after another. Of course at this time of year rehoming does become much quieter and this really makes a big impact on our ability to help every caller.

Other rescues are in the same situation and calls from a number have been received over the last week, again looking for help!

What we are noticing is a considerable increase in callers who for one reason or another are moving home or moving to rented accomodation for the first time and are unable to take the dog with them. It does surprise me how many leave it to the last few days before trying to find somewhere for the dog - today alone we've had 2 such calls who are moving by the end of the week.

Of course we'll do our best to help as many as we can but I know it won't get any easier before Christmas and it looks like we'll be having kennels full to bursting come Christmas Day but as usual we'll do our very best to give the dogs a reason to celebrate as much as the rest of us

Bye for now

Ben
