Whilst maths at school was never my strong point I am wondering if there is a mathametical equation that proves that the hours available in a day decrease in direct opposition of the number of jobs needing doing the closer you get to a holiday!!
See, Sue and I are off on the motorbike for 2 weeks next Friday and whilst trying to get everything done - even more jobs seem to arise and then "spanners" get thrown in the works. Oh well keep smiling? Very difficult when the mower decides to throw a wobbly whilst I'm half way through cutting the paddock today. I just hope the service people can fix it quick.
We've contractors coming back on Monday to, hopefully, finally get the floor right in the new kennel block - fingers crossed it's the third attempt - but I've also had to ring the contractors who installed the new septic tank as we've suddenly noticed a very wet patch of ground along the draininge - and it shouldn't be doing that. Nothing ever goes quite to plan does it?
To good news though, 5 dogs homed today and since the last entry we've been fortunate enough to have great homes come forward for 3 quite difficult to home dogs.
There's a few changes staff wise next week as well, Tracey who has been having problems with her knee is coming to work in the office as Sarah is leaving to live in Germany for a couple of years and so has to leave us (even though we know she doesn't want to). Lisa has been promoted to Assistant Manager and will be taking a special responsibility for organising training and behavioural matters. In order to give her the time to do so we welcome Megan as a kennel assistant, Megan was a weekend worker for a couple of years and has more recently done some voluntary work whilst at college. Good luck to everyone in their new jobs and in Sarahs case - home.
If I don't get the chance to write before I go - the blog will be back in October.
Bye for now
Ben
