Summer weather

Well hasn't that been a great start to summer? I've just been watching the news and the problems the rain has caused over the last day or so is quite unprecedented. I'm sure we all send our best wishes to all those who have been affected by the weather - some in tragic circumstances.

Here in Colton it hasn't been as bad as elsewhere. Our ground which never drains well at the best of times is more like a sponge at the moment making walking the dogs difficult. In certain parts we've got standing water that I've never seen there before.

By this evening the main road into the village was flooded to the extent it was closed and in the last hour or so the road from Rugeley has been closed underthe railway bridge. Fortunately the other main route in and out of the village is still relatively clear, I just hope it remains so or I could be looking after all the dogs on my own in the morning !!

We've had some interest in our Sponser A Bench scheme with one already being sponsored and some other interested enquiries. If you would like to know more please do see the website or contact us by email or phone and help mark our 10 year anniversay in this special way.

Keep dry - bye for now

Ben
