With just over a day to go, on behalf of everyone here at BCT, I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and thank you for all your presents, cards and good wishes we receive all year round but especially at this time of the year. The dogs will have a wonderful time on Christmas Day afternoon.
As I've mentioned recently homing has been quiet this month but we have found new homes for some dogs during this last week who will be enjoying a nice quiet Christmas with their new owners. It's not a good idea homing a new dog if you're having lots of family and friends round at Christmas but for many folks it's no different to a weekend and an ideal opportunity to let a new dog settle.
It's a good job some dogs have found a home as emergencies continue to happen. This afternoon a chap who has a small holding nearby and rehomed a dog from us last year visited the centre to see if we could look after his dog for a while as tragically his house has been gutted by fire today meaning he will have to stay with friends, certainly over Christmas at least. This must be very upsetting at any time but at this time of year even more so. We were of course only too happy to help and our thoughts are with him.
Well on that sad note I hope your Christmas is much happier - there'll be one more blog entry this year (later this week) when I'll look back over 2007.
Best wishes - hope Santa brings you and your dogs everything you hope for.
Ben
