Web feet??

Think the title says it all doesn't it? Quite a nice day yesterday but back to the summer moonsoon again today.

Since the last report a number of dogs have found new homes, about 25 which is not only great for them but allows us to call more in off the waiting list and means we can open it up again this week.

Some of you may have seen a dog called Monty in our Dogs For Rehoming section. Monty came to us from another rescue where he had been for 7 of his 9 years. He had developed a reputation due to his behaviour behind his kennel door meaning only one person would deal with him. Because we don't have visitors walking past kennels we felt his behaviour might improve - and how right we were. Within a few weeks Monty was amenable to all the staff entering his kennel and we began to introduce him to people away from his kennel.

His behaviour was such that we were sure he could be given the chance of  a proper home and I'm delighted to say he set off on a new adventure yesterday. First reports are good and we hope he will at last enjoy human companionship in his later years.

And then of course someone goes and spoils my good weekend. Yesterday I'd put together the first of our Sponsor a Benches, laid some slabs to make a nice feature of the bench, cut the grass and generally cleared up around the site, trying to make the centre as appealing as we can. This morning I went to fetch some items needed to finish off the sign on the lawn - on my return I find someone has deposited a carrier bag full of nappies (and not new ones either !!) on the car park less than 10 yards from our waste skip. I do wonder sometimes - so if whoever did this happens to be reading  - it's okay I moved them for you, if you want them back do let me know I'd be delighted

Bye for now

Ben
