Sally update

Sally was at the vet for a post-op checkup today. It's good news, Stuart is very pleased with not only how the operation went but her recovery so far. The leg has a much straighter line and she is using less of her leg and more of her foot to walk on, even at this earlier stage she is using the leg from time to time.

He shorterned one of the external metal rods as it was rubbing her foot and causing her to take too much attention of the padding !! So far so good then.

She can now go to her new home and will be back at the vets in about a month when the metalwork will be removed and the vet intends to operate on her other leg. He doesn't think he'll need to use external metalwork next time and may well be able to use a plate. He's hopefully that 6 weeks after that she should be recovered and able to really enjoy life at last.

Obviously it is still early days but he was very positive about the whole matter - we'll update again when Sally goes home.

Bye for now

Ben
