Brave Sally

I was hoping to put my "groundsman" hat on this afternoon and cut some grass but more rain stopped play! After the "wonderful" Easter weather we really need some dry weather please. Sue and I took a few days away over Easter and visited Sarah (who used to work in the office and now lives in Germany) and we certainly encountered much more snow on the way home than you had here.

The big story of the moment is brave Sally - the full details are on the website but I never cease to be amazed by the resilience of animals. Only 24 hours after major surgery on her leg she was not only trying to put weight on the leg but would have run around if we'd let her. A few days peace and quiet is definately what the doctor vet ordered. Read more about Sally on the website - but updates on her progress will appear in the blog.

It's the end of our financial year on Monday. I really can't believe it's 12 months since I was getting ready to prepare our end of year accounts and reports but over the next few weeks I'll be getting everything ready for the accountant. We've managed our resources well, again, and despite little in the way of legacies this year have managed to find financial resources to not only continue our day to day work of rescuing collies but also improvements to the centre. Thank you to all those who help in providing the financial support which is vital to any charity.

Bye for now

Ben
