Sad Day

It is indeed a sad day for all of us here at BCTGB. Many of you will have heard of, read about or contributed towards one of our Sponsor Dogs, Terry. Unfortunately Terry was put to sleep this afternoon after a series of fits in the last week. It started last week when his foster mom rang us to say he'd had a fit. We rushed him to our Vets. Blood tests showed nothing and by the next day he appeared brighter, although not completely his usual self.

Today he again began fitting again and our Assistant Manager, Lisa rushed to his foster home in Lichfield but in view of his condition took him to the nearest vets. He was still suffering fits at the Vets and their opinion was that in view of his age and history it was most likely a brain tumour. He is now free to chase as many cars as he wants to.

Terry had been with us for a number of years and his age wasn't really known. His appetite for chasing vehicles made him impossible to home but he did mellow with the years. About three months ago Terry found a lovely foster home, living with another dog, and enjoyed his last weeks in luxury. We are extremely grateful to his foster mom and realise how upsetting this has been for her but at the same time we hope she can feel proud of the time she gave him.

We will be writing to all Terry's sponsors to let them know.

On a brighter note our stand at the Boat, Caravan & Leisure Show was a great success. A lot of interest in our work was made and we'll be back at this show next year. It's now a "mad" week getting ready for Crufts.

Bye for now

Ben
